Dr Day is an orthopaedic surgeon and honorary associate professor in the Department of Orthopaedics at the University of British Columbia (UBC/VGH). He served as president of the Canadian Medical Association from 2007 - 2008.

Competing interests: Dr Day is the medical director of both the Cambie Surgery Centre (one of 49 shareholders), and the Specialist Referral Clinic (one of 18 shareholders).
