The BC Renal Agency has won a national award for its PROMIS information system, which maintains the medical records for patients with kidney disease across British Columbia.
PROMIS won third place in the Canada Health Infoway ImagineNation Challenge for helping kidney care providers across British Columbia access detailed information about a kidney patient’s medical care history. The system is kept up to date in real time by care teams at kidney care centres around the province.
The BC Renal Agency is recognized nationally and internationally for its model of care, innovations such as the PROMIS information system, and its medication safety program. Kidney patient health outcomes in BC, including survival, are among the best in the world. For more information see the Award Winners Release [8] from Infoway.
