D.R. Richardson, MD
Dr David Richardson joined the BCMJ Editorial Board in 2006, and became editor of the Journal in August 2008. Dr Richardson has been a general practitioner in Langley since 1992 and is on active staff at Langley Hospital. His extracurricular activities include soccer, mountain biking, and competing as a triathlete.

David B. Chapman, MBChB
Dr Chapman joined the BCMJ Editorial Board in 2008. He is a full-service general practitioner in Langley, and a clinical instructor in the Department of Family Medicine at the University of British Columbia. Dr Chapman has privileges in general practice and obstetrics at Langley Memorial Hospital, and sits on the board of directors of the Langley Memorial Hospital Foundation. Dr Chapman is interested in “cradle to grave” family practice and obstetrics, and his extracurricular pursuits include reading, gardening, investing, traveling to sunny destinations, and spending time with family.

B. Day, MB
Dr Brian Day joined the BCMJ Editorial Board in 2002. He currently practices orthopaedic surgery, and is an associate professor in the Department of Orthopaedics at the University of British Columbia (VGH). Dr Day practices as a fee-for-service surgeon, and is a medical director of the Cambie Surgery Centre and Specialist Referral Clinic.

S.E. Haigh, MD
Dr Haigh joined the BCMJ Editorial Board in 1994. Her current practice is in endocrinology (private), and she is affiliated with Lions Gate Hospital.

L.M. Lawson, MD
Dr Lawson joined the BCMJ Editorial Board in 1994. She completed her medical undergraduate training at McGill University and then went on to complete training in internal medicine and respiratory medicine through the University of British Columbia program in Vancouver. She has been in active clinical practice since 1982 based at St. Paul’s Hospital in Vancouver, and is a clinical professor in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of British Columbia.
Dr Lawson’s special medical interests include asthma, COPD, and lung cancer; and also encompass many of the rarer lung diseases seen in tertiary referral hospitals including the pulmonary complications of HIV disease.
Competing interests: Dr Lawson serves on the BC Asthma and COPD Advisory Board for GlaxoSmithKline (GSK), and has received honoraria from both GSK and AstraZeneca for speaking engagements.

T.C. Rowe, MB
Dr Rowe joined the BCMJ Editorial Board in 1993. His current practice is in ambulatory reproductive endocrinology and infertility. He is head of the Division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the University of British Columbia, and is a member of staff at Vancouver General Hospital and BC Women’s Hospital. Dr Rowe also serves as editor-in-chief of the Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology Canada.

C. Verchere, MD
Dr Verchere joined the BCMJ Editorial Board in 2009. She currently practices pediatric plastic surgery at BC Children’s Hospital, and is a clinical associate professor at the University of British Columbia. In addition to her affiliation with BC Children’s, Dr Verchere is a member of the consultative staff at Vancouver General Hospital (UBC).
Dr Verchere’s special medical interests include cleft lip and palate; brachial plexus injuries; pediatric burns; congenital hand, pediatric hand, and facial trauma; and pediatric microsurgery. In her free time Dr Verchere enjoys spending time with her family of boys, gardening, reading, stiltwalking, sewing, and ballet.

Dr Vroom joined the BCMJ Editorial Board in 2007. He is currently the deputy registrar of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia, and is a clinical instructor at the University of British Columbia.
