The flagship publication of the BCMA since 1959, BC Medical Journal is a general medical journal providing continuing medical education to physicians through scientific research, review articles, and updates on contemporary clinical practices. Published ten times a year, the BCMJ provides high-quality clinical and review articles written primarily by BC physicians, and makes an effort to publish articles with a British Columbia slant--articles on rural medicine, for example, and on clinical problems encountered in the Pacific Northwest. The journal also contains editorials, BC medical news, book reviews, and regular columns, such as those from the BC Centre for Disease Control. A lively correspondence column and longer opinion pieces provide a forum for discussion of political as well as clinical issues of concern to the medical profession in British Columbia. Peer reviewed by an Editorial Board of physicians from numerous disciplines, the BCMJ operates at arms-length from the BCMA so that it can be an open forum for debate on any medicine-related topic.
